PREP & AFTERCARE

  • You may not be aware of all the ingredients in your current skincare routine, but there are a few to look out for the week living up to your treatment. The first is the most important retinoids. This is an umbrella retinol, retinol acid, retinaldehyde, basically anything starting starting with “retin-“ and that includes your prescription tretinoin and others.

Stop and exfoliation or use of acids (AHA & BHA) 5-7 days prior to service.

Visit our FAQ for more information.

    • Freshly exfoliated skin is more vulnerable to UV rays.

    • Be mindful of excess heat & sun exposure

    • Avoid the gym/hot saunas/steam room/hot yoga

    • Skip aggressive skincare products for 5-7 days post treatment

    • Avoid the use of heavy cosmetics immediately after your facial

    • Do not pick at your skin

    • No laser treatments, waxing or threading

    • 48 hours before service: exfoliate, shave, and wax

    • Shower 6-8 hours prior to service

    • Wear or bring loose black/dark clothing for after appointment

    • NO lotions, oils, makeup or deodorant to the appointment

    • Schedule mani/pedi and hair appointments BEFORE your spray tan

    • Please let your technician know if you have any Nut allergies

    • AVOID skin to skin contact while your new spray tan is developing

    • First shower after 8 hours is only a RINSE (rapid tan is 4 hours)

    • DO NOT get wet or sweat before first rinse

    • When showering use your hand to wash. (NO loofas or wash clothes) this will help extend your tan

    • Moisturize 2x daily AM/PM

    • Stay hydrated by drinking lots of water

    • Pat dry when drying off after shower

    • Avoid Hot Tub / Pools (chlorine and salt water can fade tan quicker)

    • Self tanner mousse can be applied after 3 days of Service

    • Tan extend (2% DHA) can be applied like moisturizer 24 hours after service

    • Bronzing mousse can be applied (72 hours after service) to help keep tan looking fresh

    • Where loose clothing

    • Take a warm shower or a bath right before to open the pores

    • Avoid caffeine and alcohol 24 hours prior to the appointment

    • Taking Tylenol or ibuprofen can help alleviate the pain 30 minutes prior to appointment

    • Mild exfoliation, one day prior to your appointment will help to break down and loosen any buildup of dead skin cells around the base of the hair

    • Do not touch freshly waxed skin

    • Do not exfoliate immediately after a wax. We recommend to exfoliate 24 hours after service

    • Do not use body, butters, lotions, or body washes not specifically made for skin thats just been waxed. Product not specifically formulated for use on waxed skin can clog pores and cause breakouts, irritations and bumps on the skin.

    • Do not use perfumes or lotions containing fragrance on the skin right after a wax.

    • Do not wear tight clothing. Loose clothing is preferred to save the skin from friction sweat buildup or otherwise stop it from receiving airflow; stay away from tight jeans or pants and clothing made from heavy synthetic materials

    • Wait at least 48 hours after waxing service to exercise or participate in physical activity. Not only does bacteria thrive on sweaty skin, but sweat itself can clog pours and cause breakouts and inflammation. Additionally, friction will irritate the skin even further, and can cause damage to the vulnerable skin, leaving it susceptible to infection or ingrown hairs.

    • Wait 48 hours after being waxed to go swimming in salt or chlorine filled water. Water can easily carry various kinds of bacteria, which can also harm freshly wax skin.

    • Wait 48 hours after a service before exposing skin to excessive sun at the beach or pool. The skin could be susceptible to burning and scarring, as it’s been stripped of protective layers that usually shield it from the sun. After the 48 hour window, make sure to apply sunscreen to the skin if planning to be outdoors.

    • Avoid chemical peels for at least 72 hours following a waxing service. The superficial layer of skin cells has been previously removed from skin during a wax, which leaves skin ultra-sensitive.
